This pattern comes in 2 sizes, for a great fit: A size 4/5, and a 6/7. Here is a sizing chart:

SIZE: 4/5 – CHEST: 25 1/2” , WAIST: 24” ,SHOULDER to SHOULDER: 10” ,SHOULDER TO LOWER EDGE OF SKIRT: 29”

SIZE: 6/7 – CHEST: 28”, WAIST: 26”, SHOULDER to SHOULDER:12”, SHOULDER TO LOWER EDGE OF SKIRT: 31”

While this pattern is intended for the advanced sewer, as a debutant gown, there are many suggestions for modifications included with this dress, provided by some of my testers. Suggestions for modifications include: omitting sheer layers, and just working with Casa style satin, substituting felt stencil motifs for stenciling on the skirt, 3 sleeve options to chose from, omitting lining and tulle layers, and a zipper closure at the back with a suggestion for stretch polyester instead.

All sewing for this project can be easily completed with a standard sewing machine. However, for more of a professional look, a serger is highly recommended.

I created this dress originally for a friend who could no longer purchase the Sofia costume dress on Disney’s site, as they are often sold out. Three months, and lots of requests later, I have turned this idea into a full-scale pattern for you to purchase for your little girl.
