These shorts were so much fun! I used some fabric remnants from donated clothing to pull together this look….some men’s dress shirts, some washed boxer shorts, & some fabric remnants.  I was inspired by THIS POST, and immediately wanted to make N a pair of his own for summer. I love how they turned out! For the pattern, I used the same one I drafted for Nathan’s Animal Safari pants (that I posted about on Monday, HERE). The best part is, that I will be posting my first free downloadable pattern with tutorial next week on how to make these. As of now, they will be in a size 2T (for boys and girls). Can I get a Yahoo out there????? I thought so! I’m so excited to share this with you! I’ve been getting into a lot of pattern making lately…2T stuff for the little guy, and some size 5, 7, and 10/12’s for the cousins across the street. But, more to come on that later.

I did a lot more fabric piecing to mine, than Rae did on hers for Elliot, but I like it. Next time, I’ll have to try just doing the “stripe” method, so it won’t take me nearly as long. These shorts also have a faux fly, which is really quite easy to make. Yes, you’ll just love it!
Do you see Nathan going through the progression above???? Not very happy. Getting some chocolate. Mommy is trying so hard. Starting to get happier. Letting me take pictures. Maybe even enjoying it a little bit??!! Love you, little guy!!!! Chocolate usually always works for me too!  : )
