My husband, Steven, and I both cook. He is much better. Though we cooked normal, healthy meals this week (and last), we took extra time to make some extra special “treats”. Now that I posted them on here..it looks like we eat sweets too often…. Hmm…but enjoy the recipes below and know they are ALL SOOOOO DELICIOUS!

Copy cat CINNABON rolls… They were awesome!!! Click here to view/print this recipe: Also, some tips we found helpful for adjusting the recipe are to:
- leave a 1/2″ edge around the pastry when rolled out (when applying butter and filling), so that the dough will seal better when rolled.
- The temp in this recipe should be altered to be:Cook at 350 degrees for 20-25min on middle or lower oven rack
This is an Apple Braid made by my wonderful and talented husband. Seemed like he was in the kitchen all day, but it was worth the wait! We only ate 1/3 and froze the rest! It’s huge!!!!!
The book is from here, and the recipe for Apple Braid is on page 180. Please email me at jahoover316@yahoo.com if you are interested in the free recipe. (put “apple braid” on the subject line please)….

Yummy! I just made this
Baked Macaroni & Cheese (courtesy of Alton Brown) today for my Dad’s 60 “something” birthday. It was very good and fairly easy! You can check it out
here for the recipe. I also highly recommend that if you have leftovers of this, that you make
this dish also! Perfect for kids especially!

Okay…onto at least one of my healthy recipes.
Corn Stuffed Peppers. We’ve made this one several times and just LOVE it! Obviously it’s not a “hot” dish because the “peppers” are only the green ones you stuff the mix in! This recipe is one of many we love in
Don Colbert’s WWJE cookbook! This time I forgot to buy creamed corn, so I quickly mixed 1 can corn and 1 cup milk in blender and voila… creamed corn! The next two pics are the recipe from his book (but if you want to eat healthy daily, I recommend buying the whole book)….

This is my
Pecan Pie by Betty Crocker. (Sorry I forgot to take a close-up pic before they cut into it…oops)! I made it for my Dad’s birthday today by special request. I had never made a pecan pie before, but I stuck to an old, but reliable recipe from my (actually my husbands)
1987 Betty Crocker cookbook. It turned out just perfectly! I’m thankful and a bit relieved! For an interest in this recipe you may email me as well
jahoover316@yahoo.com and put “pecan pie” in the subject line.

This is an
Easy Chocolate Mousse recipe from the booklet that came with our blender. All you do is mix equal amounts of whipping cream and chocolate syrup on high speed for about 2 minutes or until it fluffs up. It was pretty good. I put cookie crumbs on top. For the whip: I put more whipping cream, 2T sugar, and 1/2tsp cream of tartar in blender and set on high for another 2 minutes..and you get whipped creme. Very pretty in the parfait glasses I have!
