Why are there swimsuits in the stores? It’s still cold and I need winter clothes! So, in leu of wrapping up the winter here, I’ve decided there’s still time for a little more sewing of winter clothing…..
Above is what I started with. I picked up this Polarvide Fleece throw at Ikea for $3.49. It’s a little over a yard and a half…and a steal for that price! I have been dying to make this fleece vest before the weather starts warming up soon here and I head into Spring Top Week

Cutting out the Green Pepper pattern. This is our adorable kitty, Lexi (Alexis). She insists on helping me and getting involved in whatever projects I embark on! We love her so much!

As when you make anything (especially for yourself), you must try the garment on a hundred times during the process to make sure it’s coming out just right. You don’t want to make it and get an undesirable surprise at the end!

This is as good as it gets taking pictures by yourself ; )! I had to take in the vest quite a bit on the sides and the bottom. At 5’3″, I have to make sure that my shirts stay above my hips (or else I look even shorter)!

The finished vest! Yea! I’m so pleased with it!
So for about $5.48 (fleece and zipper purchased), I have an awesome new vest!
